well, i got a promotion at my job and the hours are pretty brutal. i haven't worked out the kinks in it yet. i have a crap ton of tabs open in my browser to share but haven't found the time, yet.
this post is really just for people who stumble upon it. i haven't gotten any new hits since the last post. i haven't abandoned this. it's just on a short hiatus for now.
Update: I have abandoned this.
my name is jesse and this is my blog. i do a weekly podcast at www.cromulenceconsortium.com and this is a sort of companion piece to that. come for the preview, stay for the cake.

An analysis of the relationships between 43,000 transnational corporations has identified a relatively small group of companies, mainly banks, with disproportionate power over the global economy.
i couldn't think of anything snarky for this one. :/
and last but not least, Muammar Gaddafi is dead. there is a video that shows the moments before the execution. i don't recommend it.
i'm going to go wrap myself up with something warm and fuzzy.

it was a slow news day yesterday. sue me. here are today's things i found interesting.
there is too much huberus and not enough humility in the financial sector. here's an example.
along those same lines lemony snicket chimes in with his trademark style with 'Thirteen Observations made by Lemony Snicket while watching Occupy Wall Street from a Discreet Distance'
i'm not sure how i feel about this pic. it could be taken as the media has lied to us, given false hope, and subdued us to wait for our time to come or as we think we're so special that we're entitled to being these things. still, it's a great movie.
i can't find the words to describe this video so here's a marine yelling at some nypd. people are still getting harassed, beaten, and arrested for no reason all over the place and not just because they're protesting. please be suspicious of your local police.
and now for something completely different...
would van gogh be more or less cool if he was murdered?
forever the victim |
robert downey jr. comes to the aid of mel gibson... and makes a compelling argument. not too sure how to feel right now.
i *heart* albino anything... so here's an albino peacock
maps from a <insert anything here>'s perspective was the joke du jour on reddit today. here are two of my favorites.
america from an english person with a limited knowledge of american geography's perspecive |
sadly, i think this is the typical american's perspective of the world submitted without comment: teenage mutant ninja noses. |

first post
i've decided to get going with this thing. it's been in the back of my mind for quite some time and it's pretty much now or never. it'll probably die within a few weeks/months anyway.
it's going to look like crap until i figure out/learn enough html to make it look the way i want it to so bear with me until then.
here are some links to concider stretching back from a month or so ago. also, i get most of my stuff from reddit and fark. once i get the hang of blogging, i'll probably be better at organizing the content to be a bit more cohesive and thoughtful.
for now, here's a purge of my browser tabs of stuff i thought was interesting. enjoy.
"Secret panel can put Americans on 'kill list'" - wtf? seriously.
a protest sign i want to make only i'd cite my source. graphs with legit, 'third party' sources would be awesome signs.
no one from these places will see this on here... but just in case... 'National Lawyers Guild chapters are working hard to provide legal support for Occupy protests nationwide.'
